Supernatural Sex--And a Contest Times Three!

****WINNERS ANNOUNCED BELOW****

My June Blaze, Call Me Wicked, is about a witch living in present-day California. I've always been a fan of strong heroines, and my stories tend to be about very strong women, but writing about a witch took my interest in female empowerment to its natural extreme. And perhaps more fun, it took my interest in writing hot stories in directions it couldn't go without a touch of the paranormal.

I just turned in a set of proposals for three more witch stories spinning off of this first one, and truly my favorite part of writing these stories is figuring out how to make the sex out of this world unique. Sex with a shape shifter? Oh, the possibilities... Heh. A challenge all authors of erotic romance face is how to keep the sex fresh, and paranormal stories certainly help meet this challenge. After all, who wouldn't want to have a little magic or a few superpowers in the bedroom?

This leads me to wonder what is the most unusual love scene--paranormal or not--that you've ever read or seen in movie?

My vote is for a movie, Y Tu Mama Tambien, which wasn't as erotic as I thought it would be, but was very unique in the emotional honesty it portrayed in the love scenes. And of course the last love scene, with the two guys and one woman, was fairly unique...but I wish it hadn't been over so fast. :-)

I'll randomly choose three names from those of you who post, and those three winners will receive either the prequel to Call Me Wicked, The Sex Quotient, or if you've already read that book, you can choose any other from my backlist.

The movie that comes to mind

The movie that comes to mind is 9 1/2 weeks that came out in 1986. Very erotic. Call Me Wicked sounds great. I love stories about witches. :) Hope your proposals get accepted.

9 1/2 weeks

9 1/2 Weeks is the first thing that came to my mind. (And, that gives a clue to my age doesn't it?) I wouldn't say that it was unusual, but it is was a scene that I still remember ~ 20 years later.

Prophecy

One of the most unique scene(s) I read was/were in the second book, Prophecy, of The Symphony of Ages series. (spoiler) The main character used his elemental lore powers to stimulate our heroine in the bath, then got in and continued with his manipulation. (/spoiler) (live in the UK, don't think I qualify)!

Hum..

I can't think of an unsual one but a funny scene came to mind.In the movie All I Wanna Do there was a part when two of the teens in the movie were going to have their first time, but when the guy(Matthew Lawrence)was trying to open the spermicide bottle the spermicide explodes out,I cracked up .I was watching this movie in the middle of the night,so my DH woke up for a second and gave me the "why the heck aren't you sleeping look" Hugs,Danette http://nenscl.blogspot.com

That's really made me think . . .

The most unusual one I came up with wasn't really a love scene, more the preclude to the couple getting together. That was in The Big Easy when Dennis Quaid was chasing after Ellen Barkin with his stuffed alligator toy. For some reason, that just tickled me and I thought it was so cute. I know, kinda weird but that's the kind of stuff that fascinates and intrigues me. Anyway, looking forward to Call Me Wicked.

The only movie that comes to

The only movie that comes to mind is Eyes Wide Shut with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. I think the whole movie was unusual. Not only the love scenes. Wierd is probably a better word. Not one I'd want to watch again. lol I haven't seen the movie you mention. Good luck with your proposals. It sounds like a neat series.

love the movie with kate

love the movie with kate becenkensale in underworld and their love scene

Hi Jamie

I read Call Me Wicked and I have to say that your Witch story was really good. Suspense, really great sex scenes and a Hero that any woman would want for her very own. I loved the way you ended the story but, I'll keep quiet about that. Your blog readers will just have to buy your book to see what a great read it is and how it ends. I can't wait for your next witch book to be published. If it's anything like Call Me Wicked, it will definitely be a winner. The most unusual love scene that I've recently seen in a movie, was a scene from the movie Just Like Heaven. It stars Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. Reeses character is in a coma and she doesn't know it. Her out of body spirit goes back to her apartment where Marks character is living. About halfway through the movie, they wind up in bed together. They can't really touch but, the scene is done in a way that you feel the characters feelings for each other. Though the movie is not what I would call paranormal, it was a different take on the traditional love scenes we're all used to seeing. Have a great weekend and please hurry and write the next witch story. I'm on pins and needles. Mads:)

I liked the way Kerrelyn

I liked the way Kerrelyn Sparks wrote her love scenes in BE STILL MY VAMPIRE HEART. It combined humor and drama

Paranormal Sex

Years ago, Linda Lael Miller, had a miniseries about vampires and witches. In Time Without End, the male vampire could make love to the (human) woman telepathically. She would actually feel him in her, on her, etc, and he wouldn't even be in the room. Let me tell you, that was pretty sexy stuff! ani

I read that series

Ani, I read that series and you're right. Pretty sexy stuff.Did you read Jamies book yet? Mads

not yet

I'm saving it. I'm reading something I feel I "should" so I want to treat myself when I'm finished!

The Tall Guy

Hey Jamie. Long time no blog. Just popping in to say hello and share that one of the most memorable love scenes in a movie for me is the one between Emma Thompson and Jeff Goldbloom in The Tall Guy. It's memorable because it's so funny - they do it up the wall, on the bed, on the floor, pictures fall off the wall, the bed breaks, and still they keep going. I remember laughing a lot when I first saw it. I also really like the love scene in The Thomas Crown Affair, with Rene Russo and Pierce Brosnan. It's very sexy. Again, they do it everywhere - staircase, desk, bed. Hmmm. Is there a pattern forming here? I don't know. I am just starting to read paranormals - I know, I'm slow on the uptake - but I can't wait to read yours. Maybe I will be able to take it to Europe with me on the long, long flight over...
