It's Here... My Precious.... And a Book/Bag Contest!
It's been a while since I've had author copies of my very own to cuddle, but Hard to Resist author copies arrived, and I love them. They are so pretty and red with beautiful people on them, and all of my words inside. :) This is my "American Heroes: Texas Ranger" Blaze, and I have loved every bit of this story since I wrote it. Jarod is probably one of my favorite heroes. It was a blast writing about cowboy cop in New York City, and I hope you love him as much as I do. Lacey is pretty cool, too. :) (If you want to check out Hard to Resist, just click on my name in the left sidebar to go to my website where I have the cover, reviews, and an excerpt.)
So, this calls for some kind of big to-do, right? How about this blog is kicking off a mini-blog tour/contest? You can win a pretty fabric bag made by moi, and an advance copy of Hard to Resist, signed. Is that tempting enough to get you to follow me around the blogosphere? I hope so...

So, here's the dope: it's pretty easy. When you comment on 6 of the of the 7 upcoming blogs listed below on the day they are posted (Cigars counts through the end of May 20th, for instance, Eastern Time) you will eligible to win this cute bow-tie reversible bag (made by me) and a book, and maybe something else I might toss in there, who knows? Surprises are fun. :) THREE runners up will also win signed copies of Hard to Resist with a pretty bookmark.
The schedule:
May 20 Cigars (this blog right now, that you are currently reading).
May 23 Blaze Authors' Blog
May 25 Novelists, Inc.
June 5 WriteMinded
June 17 Riding With the Top Down
June 19 here at Cigars (added on May 23 as an alternate to the May 25 blog when I realized this meant asking people to come by two blogs on a holiday weekend -- sorry about that!)
June 25 Prairie Chicks Write Romance
July 1 Cari Quinn, Girl Writer -- winner will be announced at the end of this blog day on this blog and here at Cigars.
So, that's all there is to it -- follow me around the blogs for a month, and if you come to all but one (I had to give a grace in there, in case people find this one late), then you qualify. :)
So, for today's blog, I wanted to kick it off by asking everyone, in honor of my book, what do you find Hard to Resist? What is the one thing, that no matter how you try, it just gets you every time? And why would you want to resist it anyway, because as my heroine Lacey finds out with her handsome Texas Ranger, giving in can be a lot more fun!

Chocolate
I really, really find chocolate, especially dark chocolate, hard to resist. I need to resist it because it adds pounds to my already overweight self.
I follow four of those blogs anyway. And I would love to win the book and bag.
Hard question...
What can't I resist? Well, a bunch of things, but because I can't pick between them, I'll narrow it down to two - Mexican food and coffee. Those are must haves. Just the thought of Chili's Kickin' Jack Nachos makes me hungry. See, there ya go. LOL
I'll definitely be following you on your blog tour. Can't wait for Hard to Resist! Also can't wait to get you on the hot seat on my blog. :)
Cari

I can't resist...
Supernatural!
Also invitations to the movies, English muffins with butter, a Corona on a hot summer day, dancing if I hear ABBA, singing along if I hear Journey, and smooching my boys when they put their pjs on and their hair is still wet. :-)
Can I ask a technical question?
So, since I technically only belong to this blog, and since we're technically allowed to miss commenting on one blog, couldn't I pretend I never commented on this blog and then comment on all the others and then be entered in the drawing?
Yours in bag lust,
Ellen
;-)
Vices
Unfortunately I have too many things that are hard to resist. Here are the top ones on the list currently:
* Facebook
* Chocolate (sweets in general)
* Diet Coke
* Mexican Food
Sam, I'm so happy for you on the release of your new novel!Congrats!
candy and soda and books

I find lots of things hard
I find lots of things hard to Resist, but the hardest for me is trying to resist a "Blaze" Samantha. :) I have fallen in love with the shiny red covers with the beautiful people on them, and most importantly the awesome stories inside. Every month I start with my favorite authors, but end up buying all 6 new releases, I CAN NOT resist a Blaze LOL !! Can't wait to read Hard To Resist Samantha, that cover has been driving me nuts since you've posted it !! LOL :))
There are too many to choose
There are too many to choose from... pepsi, dark chocolate, chips ahoy, rocky road icecream... notice they are all not good for you :)
Have a book and a tote!
Hail to the Redskins!
Just got a book and a tote (picture to come!) So I encourage all of you to enter the contest. Its easy to post and just talk from the heart!
I find Diet Coke and anything with chocolate in it hard to resist. Sitting with a diet coke next to me right now. Working hard to resist going to the cookie jar. Already had a chocolate chip cookie for breakfast. Yummy!
Irresistible!
Funny to see how often chocolate comes up. ;)
I had an inkling Ellen would find Supernatural irresistible. ;)
For me, it's fabric. I can almost never (okay, let's make that never) walk into a fabric store without buying *something.* I feel like when we were kids at the dime store, though it costs significantly more. ;)
And cupcakes...and hugging my honey (which I NEVER resist).
I think indulging ourselves is a good thing. We deserve it. ;)
Teresa, glad to hear you got your bag (from a previous giveaway, not to be confused with this one). I hope you'll let us know what you think of Jarod and Lacey. :)

Hard To Resist
Hmmm, so much is hard to resist. Curling up in my favorite chair with a good book is very hard to resist, especially when I'm supposed to be doing something like laundry. Chocolate and Diet Coke, well, can't live without those. My Blackberry. And of course, my husband. Can't ever resist him.

forgot
I forgot to add my nails. I have to have the nails. I like the click click noises they make when I write. Keeps me focused if that makes any sense at all. Drives everyone else in the family nuts (and keeps them out of my office when I'm working!)

Hi Jenni
I have always wondered how people type with long nails. I had no idea they worked as a privacy barrier. I'm sooo investing in some press-on's tonight!!
Hi buddy.
Ellen
Jen, leave it to you ;)
You kill me, you are so funny. I am the opposite. I was a terrible nail biter up until about 8 years ago, and still, I will give in in times of real stress, but mostly I just can't stand them long. For me, they get in the way of typing, or anything, and I just can't stand it. I try not to bite, but I keep them filed way down so I can resist that bad habit...

Sweets
I can't resist most sweets. Chocolate is a favorite but it doesn't have to have chocolate for me to enjoy. The reason to resist is that it's hard to fit in my clothes if I eat all the sweets I want.
This is true
I have this cupcake problem... LOL I try to resist things like this by not having them in the house -- I just don't buy them, but I know where they are when I want them! LOL
Sam
Can't Resist
For me it is:
Surfing the net
diet sodas
sweets
My Must Have
Chocolate milk every morning.
Love your bags!
I find the interwebs hard to resist. There is so much stuff out here. I can get lost for hours jumping from link to link on Wikipedia. Facebook has mindless games with fake friends. Hulu allows me to catch up on shows I might have missed (or have been clipped on my DVR). I have to make sure all my work is done before sitting down at my computer. I might not finish the housework I started.
Yes
This is a difficult one for all of us. Though it's easier for me in summer to resist... so much pull to be outside. TV is a huge one for me, of course. I love my shows!
Sam
So cute!
Sam, you're a wonder! That bag's adorable!
OK, what I can't resist? Books. I have so many that I'd be hard pressed to finish them all in my lifetime, but I keep finding more that I just have to have--an awesome new story by someone I've read before, or a cover calls to me... Maybe I need to stop looking? No, never! ;)
yep
We share this one, too. :)
I don't know if I am a wonder, though I know I sometimes make people wonder... LOL
Sam
Buying Books
I find it hard to resist buying more romance novels, even though I may already have over a hundred in my tbr pile, lol.
And, you're right, why would I want to resist anyway? Reading is my way of escaping the stress of work and life :)

The one thing, no matter how
The one thing, no matter how hard I try to resist and can't is Plain Potato Chips and Philadelphia Cream Cheese Dill Pickle Dip. I love it and it calls my name quite often no matter if it's day or night.
What a lovely bag, so stylish, cute, feminine and pretty.
Hi Robyn...
The chips are in the same camp as the pepsi -- I probably only buy potato chips twice a year, and then for company, because I would eat the whole bag, LOL.
Thanks for the kind words on the bag. I liked the summery pattern. :)
Sam
Exactly!
This is one habit we all forget resisting, LOL!
Sam
I find books, Diet Pepsi,
I find books, Diet Pepsi, jelly beans, chocolate and French fries hard to resist.
Ohhh
French fries are almost impossible to resist. And Pepsi. I don't drink any diet soda because I have a reaction to artificial sweeteners, but I love Pepsi, and never keep it in the house because I really can't resist it...
Sam
Make-up
Cute bags. I can't resist buying make-up. I love hanging out at Sephora and trying all the new colors. I also have a thing for make-up brushes. I have more eye shadow brushes than necessary.
Interesting!
It's always fascinating, the little things we love, the simple things that make us happy. :)
Sam
Animals
I can't resist a lost or homeless animal. I live in the mountains and people have a tendency to drop off unwanted kittens and puppies up here. I do my best to find them homes and I have kept a few myself.
Yes.
I love all animals, but I am a complete puppy addict. I cannot resist a puppy to save my life. I see a puppy and I cannot take another step until I go visit and give it a good scratch. :) Puppies just turn me into a puddle.
I see Michael Vick is out of jail. Million dollar fine to help the animals he abused, but I don't think Vick got nearly what he deserved. However, I am so glad to see that many of the dogs he abused have been rehabilitated and are living good, happy lives. I hope he never is let near another animal again, though.
Sam
Uh...hard to resist...if I'm
Uh...hard to resist...if I'm being honest, I find flirting with a hot guy hard to resist. Not in the I want to take you home way, but in the, I'm friendly and fun way... DH is the one to most often point it out...to me, I'm just making conversation, but evidently it's hard to resist!
BTW...that bag is darling!
BTW...that bag is darling! Will try to keep up through cyberspace!! Definitlely worth the effort!
woo!
Good to see you! Will be fun, I hope. :)
Sam
I'll try to follow. I got to
I'll try to follow. I got to remember, where all these places are and when, LOL.
I find it hard to resist:
1) Cheerios (I love them plain)
2) The bookstore!
3) My hubby :D
Hard to resist--buying new
Hard to resist--buying new books. I also have a hard time resisting ice cream. So I guess my idea of heaven is a combination book store and ice cream parlor, lol.
I just got my copy of Hard to Resist (Thanks, Sam!) today. It's proving to be hard to resist *chortle*. I read one page at school when I was supposed to be grading and then made myself put it down before I got sucked in. Then I had to go to a track meet and forgot the book at school. Rats. Oh well--I'll dive in tomorrow.
Jeannie
Ooh...
Jeannie, I'd SO be hanging out there with you! Books AND ice cream... mmmm...
And hee! So sorry you made HTR easier to resist this evening!
Given
Hail to the Redskins!
I justs assumed books were a given since we were all here, lolol. Can't resist books. Dh keeps telling me to go to the library, but I like to support authors by buying the books. *sigh*
Hard to Resist
Coffee. Especially in the mornings. I like it hot and cold. Boring I know. It's hard to resist a lot of the things that you all mentioned too. I think I have an addictive personality to chocolate, coffee, french fries, not being able to stop eatting chips...oh and I have a big time purse/bag fetish.
I'm not a clothes person so much, but I'm really into purses and shoes. Maybe because I know my size where as with clothes it's more of a battle.
Procrastinating is hard to resist. ;0) Thanks, Sam! Just one more place to procrastinate. ;)
Hey Rae!
Yes, come be addicted with us! ;) I am with you on coffee.. could live without it, but who wants to?
Also, at the Blaze Authors' Blog today for the second stop on the tour -- so come chat! :) http://tinyurl.com/q5sozj
Hard to Resist?
I've gotta say... dessert. I find it incredibly hard to resist sweet things. I love dessert so much. That, and a good book. I'll stay up literally til dawn reading if I'm hooked. Those are basically the two biggest things though. Sweets, and books. (Or, procrastinating? I can't ... not waste time or put things off. Eek.)
Both at once? LOL
Dessert and a good book? Now we're talkin'... ;)
Sam
hmm nice, I can't resist
hmm nice, I can't resist when i got a offer for dinner in south beach hotels, icecap and surely chocolates. I love to eat and wearing cute things like bags in images.
