A Sad Goodbye . . .
Wow. My fingers are not wanting to type this. I've really enjoyed the blog over the past year and it's been wonderful to cyber-meet all of you!
But it's time for me, too, to say goodbye. It's the same old story of too many commitments and not enough time to follow through properly on them all. You've heard the story before--and I'm sure you've lived it yourself. Right?
At the moment I'm in a small town in Kansas, staying with my dad and stepmom and sister and brother and . . . more! LOL. It's quiet and there's snow on the ground and I've finally caught up on sleep and life seems full of infinite possibility. Life seems manageable again.
But I know as soon as I return home to Florida I'll have to hit the ground running. There's a contract to finish negotiating, then a book to write--FAST--as usual. There's the non-stop promotional grind to get back into. Career planning (hey, other authors, I can hear you laughing!) to do. A house to run, flab to remove from the thighs, other life goals, etc. etc.
None of this is unusual and we all do it in some form or fashion, but I am trying to simplify and streamline and regain sanity. And unfortunately that means focusing on the manuscript as much as possible and not playing so much on the internet--no matter how much fun it is!
I wish you guys nothing but the very best. If you're writing, then I hope to soon see you published. If you're reading, then I wish you fabulous books and long hours of enjoyment. And if you're just hanging out, I love you for that and will come back as often as I can to visit.
Happy New Year to you! And a hug goodbye as I reluctantly resign from Cigars. All best,
Karen Kendall

Sorry to see you go, Karen...
You've been such a source of humor and experience here, and I've loved having you on board -- Sarah brought you into the blog, and I was always grateful to have had the chance to get to know you! I hope you really will come back and blog with us, guest blog, and let us know how things are working out (including that possible new addition to the family!).
It's been fun, and I hate it that you're leaving, but I wish you all the best, and know we'll still keep in touch...
hugs
Sam

Hugs to you!
And the rest of you Cigar authors, please stay put, okay? We'll be very undemanding of your time, seriously! ;)
And uh, wow! Just noticed all the new covers on the right--woohoo!
Bye
I guess like Sarah we will still see you with occasional guest blogs :)
Wish you the best for 2008... it is amazing to know how much authors have things going on for them, writing, sometimes a career on the side, and life in general!
Will everyone leave... I
Will everyone leave... I used to read the Pink Ladies blog and they decided to close the website.
Will there be new authors joining this blog?
I hope next year will be less stressful, and I understand that it is important to have priorities... and that blogs are quite enery draining... I seem to be somewhat addicted myself! Anyway, we can always have some news through your website I guess :)

Aloha, Karen...
It sounds softer than goodbye. :-) You shall be sorely missed, but we have to make the tough decisions sometimes, so we all understand. You're a fabulous writer and a funny, funny lady. It was you who brought me to LIAEC. Thank you.
Much cheer.
