Merry Day-After-Christmas! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and to keep the Christmas spirit alive, I'm giving away two advance copies of my February book, Able-Bodied. This book just received a four and a half star review from Romantic Times Book Reviews. You can read the full review below...

"In this meltingly hot story, Reiki healer and sensitive Hannah Hartwell flees Boston after a crooked police officer frames her when she won't sleep with him. She disappears in the night, accidentally taking some money with her. Setting up her new business in North Carolina, Hannah meets Ransom Bennett of Delta Force, a man wounded in both body and heart. She works to heal him even as the powerful erotic connection between them explodes. But danger lurks. Ransom is wonderful and sexy, a strong, silent hero who protects those he cares for. Hannah is appealing and sweet. This is a wonderful romance you won't be able to stop reading. —Page Traynor"

I'll be the first to admit that I love the hero in this book, and the heroine is a woman I'd be proud to have as a friend. But when I originally wrote this story, it had a completely different plot. Ransom Bennett was a rude, crude soldier who'd spent so many years crawling through the Colombian jungles that he no longer remembered how to behave in a civilized manner. When his socialite sister enrolls him in a charm school for men, he's about to become the program's first casuality. Then the school hires Hannah Hartwell, a life coach whose mission is to teach Ransom the survival skills required to negotiate the jungles of high society.

My editor loved the characters, but not so much the plot. I was devastated. Ransom had a story that needed to be told!

So when my editor invited me to be part of a 12-book continuity series called Uniformly Hot!, featuring irresistable soldiers from all branches of the armed services, I knew readers would finally have a chance to meet Ransom! I now like to think of him as Mr. February, since his book is the second book in the 12-book series. While his story has changed, his character hasn't, nor has his fierce attraction to the free-spirited heroine, Hannah.

In this new story, he's still rude and crude, but Hannah sees past his abrasive attempts to keep her at arm's length, and she knows she has just what it takes to reach his heart. I hope you enjoy reading Able-Bodied as much as I did writing it (both times!). Leave a comment, and at the end of the day I'll pick two winners (but remember, you must be registered to win!).

Hugs,

Karen
