An Unscheduled Announcement
I wanted to pop in here before leaving for RWA Nationals to wish Sam the best of luck at the Rita Awards. I had originally decided to skip the ceremony, since I’ll be participating in a run over the Golden Gate Bridge the next morning, but when I found out that Sam’s book Untouched finaled…well, I started shopping for my Rita dress.
So Sam, I’ll be there in the audience, heart beating faster when your category comes up. And I can assure you I’ll have fingers, toes and anything else I can cross, crossed. Good luck, my friend.

Thanks so much -- I have to admit, it's bothered me a bit in the last few days not to be going, but at least I know I have a wonderful, enthusiastic contingent there looking out for me. :) I'll miss you all this week, and I'll enjoy hearing reports from everyone next week, and want you all to travel safely and have a great time!

Honestly, the odds of being nominated are so much slimmer than the odds of winning, that I really do feel like the nom was the win. It was the best to be chosen among peers who write such great books, so either way, I'm happy. :)
